Norway Resistance Museum

Norway's Resistance Museum, also known as Norwegian Home Front Museum, was opened to the public in 1970, by Crown Prince Harald, and presents the history of the 'Homefront', the civilian and military resistance against the German occupation and the collaborative regime from 1940-45. The initiative for the museum and the elaboration of the exhibition was carried out by active members of the resistance movement. The exhibit is a chronological gallery through five years of occupation in Norway.
The museum displays a sculpture built of German Mauser rifles in the shape of a swastika. It also has a detailed display on the SOE raid on the heavy water plant at Vermork in Rjukan, famously portrayed in the film 'Heroes of Telemark', even featuring one of the damaged containers.
