Bunker Ag 4 Argenteau

This bunker is known as Ag4, Argenteau 4 from the 3rd line of defense around the city of Liège. The lines of defense are known as 'La Position Fortifiée de Liège" (PFL 3).

This is the 4th bunker form the sector of the town of Argenteau and is located in a private yard behind a house. Very different from the time the bunker was build in the years before WW2. At the time the bunker would have been located in a forest area.

Unfortunately bunker Ag3 which was about 500 m. in distance of Ag4 was demolished after the war. The first nearby bunker in this sector now would be bunker Ag2. This bunker is located 1 km to the south-westside of bunker Ag4.

Bunker Ag4 is the smallest type bunker .The bunker is used as a storage by the landowner. Note that on this bunker part of the steel shutter still exists and a ventilation grille. Most other bunkers were stripped for metal after the war when the bunkers became out of use, they sold the metal as scrap,
