Bunker Ag 8 Argenteau

This is bunker Ag 8 sector Argenteau, from the third line of defense for the city of Liège.

It is the small type of bunker en is located in an orchard. The damage is caused due to acts of war.

When after the war the bunkers became out of use, the plot was sold en the iron shutters and doors were sold as scrap. The rond hole on top of the bunker was for ventilation. The square shaped slooping hole was for disposal of shellcasings of the machinegun.

Worth mentioning is that this bunker still has one of four markers. Thes markers, marked with numbers 1 to 4 (for each corner of the plot) and the letters DN, Defense Nationale (National Defense).

This kind of markers were placed at all plots of the bunkers of the PFL. Also they were provided with barbed wire and fencing to keep unauthorized persons at distance.
