Roadblock AG1 I and II, Bunker Argenteau 1 (Ag 1)

Le barrage du câble Ag1 I en Ag1 II. Translated as blockade with cables.

These cast iron posts are in fact roadblocks. They were placed at 25 meter and 100 meter distance of a bunker. In this case this is the 100 meter blockade. The two poles who marked the 25 meter roadblock do not longer exist.

An iron cable could be tensioned between the two posts (photograph 2) so traffic could be halted and obstructed. During the years befor the 2nd world war these were not only cars but also horses with carriage, ore artillery pieces

The posts are numbred and coded. These posts are coded with A1 I (2 posts) en A1 II (2 posts). The code would refer tot the nearby bunker Ag 1
(Argenteau 1) of sector Argenteau from the 3rd line of defense for the city of Liège (PFL 3).
