This is bunker BM 5 from sector Barchon-Meuse of the 2nd line of defense for the city of Liège (la Position Fortifiée de Liège, PFL 2) and belongs to fort Barchon.
This sector consisted out of 8 bunkers.
Bunker BM 5 today is located at a backyard on a privat plot and is almost invisible due to ivy. When the bunkers became out of use, they (and the plot) were sold. Later houses were build on the plots. Because the walls of the bunkers are made of 1.30 meter thick concrete, which is difficult and expensive to demollisch, they mostly remained on the plots.
Only in case of major infrastructure changes (f.a.roads, bridges), the bunkers would be demolished.
After the war, when the bunkers lost their strategic value for the Belgian army, the plots of land on which they stood were sold. All the metal of the hatches and doors was sold as scrap metal.
