Bunker BM 4 Cheratte-Haut

This is bunker BM 4 from sector Barchon-Meuse (BM) of the 2nd line of defense for the city of Liège (la Position Fortifiée de Liège, PFL 2) and belongs fo fort Barchon.

This sector consisted out of 8 bunkers.

The bunker is no longer visible. The bunker became part of a house. The part next to the garage was built over it. But it still exists.

Bunker BM 4 today is located on a privat plot. When the bunkers became out of use, they (and the plot) were sold. Later houses were build on the plots. Because the walls of the bunkers are made of 1.30 meter thick concrete, which is difficult and expensive to demollisch, they mostly remained on the plots.

There are photographs were the renovation shows that te bunker is being built-in. Unfortunately these photographs are not available for this site.
