Bunker N - Advancde Position Hombourg

This is probaly bunker N from the Advanced Position Hombourg.

The bunker is located at a meadow behind the former Hombourg baracks. (See the 2nd photograph, where the barracks are on the background). This probably was a bunker to shelter the troops. No gunopenings could be found on this bunker. Only ventilation openings. The iron doors (except one) are still there, The bunker would likely had been in a forestarea before the war. Today it's in a meadow.

It's not surtain thad this is bunker N. From the sources available it could not be cleared. Most likely would be bunker N.

There were several advanced positions (like Hombourg, Stavelot, Henri-Chapelle, Dolhain). These advanced positions did nog belang to a specific sector within de 4 lines of defense for the city of Liège. La Position Fortifiée de Liège (PFL). They were independent.

A total of 65 bunkers werer part of the advanced positions.
