White Stripe Nijmegen

The Germans had several warehouses in Piersonstraat during the Second World War. During the German occupation car headlights had to be darkened. To prevent accidents, this white line was applied so that people could see that they could only turn right or left on the Eerste Walstraat.

Because the white stripe has increasingly faded over the years, the municipality of Nijmegen reapplied the white stripe in 2017.
