Limestone monolith on a two-stepped base located in a Garden of Remembrance on the junction of two roads between the villages of Charlton Adam and Charlton Mackrell. The monument was designed by Captain W.F. Dickinson to commemorate those who paid the ultimate sacrifice from both villages in World War One. It memorial and garden were built by men of the villages assisted by boys from the village school, and was dedicated in 1930. 3 names were added after WW2 and a further one from the Iraq war. Research by local historians discovered L. Brooks commemorated on the Tower Hill Memorial to Merchant seamen who was lost in 1915 and his name has been added to the memorial.
