S.S. Nomadic

S.S. Nomadic was built as a tender to RMS Titanic in Belfast in 2011 and is the last remaining White Star Line ship in the world.
During World War 1 Nomadic was requisitioned by the French government and saw service as an auxiliary minesweeper as well as a troop transport ship ferrying American servicemen to and from Brest.
During WW2 she took part in the evacuation of Cherbourg. She was requisitioned by the Royal Navy and served as an accommodation ship in Portsmouth.
After the war she returned to tendering duties in Cherbourg, the port having been so badly damaged in the war that the large liners could not get alongside.
She was saved from scrapping and transported to Belfast in 2006, where she has been restored and is now part of the "Titanic Experience".
