Islamic War Graves Civil War

Near the Nesuh-Aga Vučijaković Mosque is the Šehitluci Martrys cemetery where many victims of the civil war were buried in the 1990s. The most important grave is that of Brigadier General Midhad Hujdur Hujka. During the Civil War, he led the defense of Mostar. First in 1992 during the siege by the Serb-dominated Yugoslav People's Army, and then again in 1995 against Croatian forces. He died in the process on June 30 of that year.
