War Memorial Bilstain

This memorial in the churchyard commemorates the residents of Bilstain who were killed in World War I and World War II.

Died on the field of honor during World War I

HANOTTE Eugène, 30 years
OLIVIER Leopold, 23 years

They are also mentioned on the plaque a few meters away at the municipal elementary school.

Resident Jean BALLY died from torture at the hands of the Germans.

Died during World War II

DETHIER Josephine, member of the Resistance, died in a concentrationcamp at the age of 54 in 1944.
HENDRICK Marcel, died on May 10th, 1940 at the age of 39.

It also commemorates the veterans from Bilstain who defended the fatherland as volunteers or miliciens.
