British Observation Post Bunkers Auchonvillers

Along the D174, about 1 km outside Auchonvillers (in the direction of Mesnil) there are two British observation bunkers at a distance of 100 meters from each other. Zej were built during the preparation for the battle of the Somme and provided protection for officers in their observation of the front. From here they gave a good view of the German lines between Beaumont-Hamel and Mesnil, towards Hamel and the forest of Thiepval.
