Memorial Bras-Bas

At the cemetery of Bras-Bas there is a memorial grave for the fallen of the Second World War.

Both belonged to the AT (guard unit), part of the Arlon recruitment agency.
They died on May 14, 1940 in Quievrain.
During the 18-day campaign between May 10 and 28, the Germans bombed numerous towns and villages. About 6,000 civilians were killed. Refugees were also targeted on several occasions. On the afternoon of May 14, such a tragic mistake cost the lives of 32 boys from the recruitment reserve at the Quiévrain station in Hainaut.

Right :
" BERTHOLET Fernand : 1913-1940 "
He was a soldier with the 1st Ardennes Hunters 3rd Bat 7th Comp.
He was killed in Vinkt on May 27, 1940 during heavy fighting to keep the north side of Vinkt from German infantry.

" PEINSON E. : 1918-1941 "
