Memorial Grune

There are several memorial plaques for the two world wars on the wall of the cemetery in Grune. On the left the names of 1914-1918, on the right the names of 1940-1945.
In the middle there are small pictures with the names of the civilian victims and those of those shot in Bande.

The village of Bande is known for the massacre that took place here on Christmas Eve 1944. That evening, 34 young people from the village were cowardly murdered by the Germans in a dilapidated house along the N4. Three of them came from Grune.
