"Henri Simon.
Died on the field of honor
in Ledeghem
on May 25, 1940
at the age of 21 years"

Henri Simon belonged to the 5th Hunters on Foot unit.
He was killed when his unit was deployed on the line Ledegem–Sint-Eloois-Winkel because of the German breakthrough across the Leie in Bissegem.
