Belgian War Graves Léglise

The cemetery at the church of Léglise contains Belgian war graves from both the First and Second World Wars.

Auguste and Maximilien DECROTY
DECROTY Auguste - soldier 2nd class 14th Line, died for the fatherland on August 19, 1914.
DECROTY Maximilien - soldier 1st class 13th Line,Cie Cyclistes, 4th Division
He died for his country on February 6, 1915. He was first buried in Nieuwpoort and later repatriated to Léglise.

THIRY Joseph, died 1944.

BALON Maurice – soldier 2nd Ardennes fighters.
Died in captivity in Muhlhausen on July 29, 1941.

NICHOLAS Albert: died on February 20, 1945 in Liège as a result of his captivity. He was 29 years old.

REMY Raymond: executed resistance member
Railway guard and signalman by profession. Member of the Secret Army zone V, sector 7.
Head of the Geneva camp in the Anlier forest. He was arrested there
February 14, 1944. Convicted in April by the Feldkriegsgericht sitting in Arlon.
Reason for execution: illegal possession of weapons. Executed in the Citadel of Liège on Friday
April 21, 1944.

BALBEUR Albert died for his country in 1944.
