This monument to the victims of National Socialism in Stuttgart is located in front of the Old Palace of Stuttgart in which there is also a permanent exhibition about Claus Schenk graf Von Stauffenberg. The monument was unveiled in 1970 and was designed by Elmar Daucher. For the victims, the four black granite blocks symbolize the severity of the period of tyranny.
The inscription on the monument by Jewish philosopher Ernst Bloch reads, "Banished, ejected, tortured, beaten to death, hanged, gassed - millions of victims of National Socialist tyranny beg you: never again!"
