Memorial of the Fallen and Deported in Verona

In Piazza Viviani there are two marble memorial plaques for the fallen and deportees of Verona.

"To her children
killed in a foreign land
victims of deportation
Verona Mother
has eternal memory
repeats the oath
of all free men
September 8, 1943 – April 25, 1945

The Municipality and the Association
of Former Internees of Verona
posted on April 25, 1951

Second plate on the left:
"Verona
commemorated with eternal honor
his sons
which is the highest duty
fulfilling for their homeland, their lives
gifts in African countries
so that Italy under its glorious flag
could initiate civil progress."
