Bunker BV 9 Jevoumont

This bunker BV 9 from the sector Becco-Vesdre is located in Jevoumont-wood

The sector BV is part of the 1st line of defense line for the city of Liège, La Position Fortifiée de Liège, PFL 1, and belonged in the line of defense of fort Tancrémont.

The bunker itself is in good condition, but partially overgrown. The bunker is accessible. The entrance doors and all other iron were sold as scrap when the bunkers lost their strategic value for defense for Belgium after the war.

Inside the bunker, a microclimate prevails (photograph 4 and 5).Despite the outside temperature of 17 degrees (february 15th 2024), the bunker is humid, and drops hang from the corrugated steel sheets. But even after 90 years, the corrugated sheets don't rust.

The original shelf supports and hooks are still present.
