Aaltje Fokker's Bunker

On the Grensweg near Beltrum stands a small German bunker that was used by German soldiers seeking protection from air attacks in it between 1940 and 1945. About 50 metres from this bunker, a searchlight was set up to intercept and shoot down Allied aircraft at night.

After World War II, this bunker was squatted by Fokke Rotman and Aaltje Kraake, known locally as "Aaltje van de Bunker". They lived here for many years
