Memorial Parsonage Garden Erembodegem

The original, 100 kg heavy memorial stones of Erembodegem residents who died in the First World War, were in danger of being lost when the city installed new heritage signs and was no longer interested in the original relics.
Some residents tried to save the old memorial stones. They received permission and assistance from the city to do this. The old stones have become practically illegible. They may get a makeover, but they are already adorning the wall of the redesigned rectory garden.With some effort the text can still be read up close.

On the left hangs a memorial plaque for the soldiers of 1914-1918, on the right for those who were requisitioned.
Next to the name is the place of death and the year.
In the middle hangs a small plate:
"In memory of
victims of the war
1914-1918"
