The Thynes war memorial is located at the St. Nicholas Church.
In the center is a crucifix:
"Tribute to the children
from Thynes
died for the country"
Left:
"We will never forget
we who escaped the murderous bullet"
Below are the names of the fallen martyrs of both world wars.
A number of them were shot on August 23, 1914 when Dinant was captured.
Right:
"Always remember it
and let us keep the torch burning and pray for them"
This includes the names of those who were cowardly executed in August 1914, the prisoners and deportees.
