Next to the canteen of the Amsterdam football club T.O.G. (Tot ons Genoegen) stands a monument in memory of four members of the club who died during the occupation years.
The text on the memorial stone reads:
"IN MEMORY
ON THE T.O.G. MEMBERS
THAT US IN THE
OCCUPANCY TIME 1940/45
BRUTALLY DEFEATED
A. KROONENBERG
B. KROONENBERG
J. VAN DIJK
A. BAKKER"
The Kroonenberg brothers were Jewish and were murdered in Sobibor. Bakker and Van Dijk were active in the resistance and were executed- and died in Sachenhausen, respectively.
