Bunker BV 2 Spixhe

This bunker, BV 2, from the sector Becco-Vesdre is located in a forest plot between Spixhe and Jevoumont.

The sector BV is part of the 1st line of defense for the city of Liège, La Position Fortifiée de Liège, PFL 1.

The bunker is overgrown with ivy and other plants, and makes it is perfectly camouflaged. Over the years, the back of the bunker, where the entrance is located, has been almost completely buried by landslides, due to rainfall, etc. As a result, the bunker is no longer accessible.

The walls and ceiling of the bunkers from the PFL line were 1.3 meters thick reinforced concrete. They could withstand shelling with 150mm shells. These bunkers were built in the early 1930's.These bunkers were built in the early 1930s.

However, the fence, concrete posts with barbed wire and an entrance gate, are still present. The gate itself was removed after the war and sold as scrap metal.

At bunker SB F at Becco the gate does remain.
