Masurian Canal Leśniewo

There is a lock here that was built by the Germans and is part of the Masurian Canal. The Germans started building the Masurian Canal in 1911. The canal was intended to connect the Masurian Lakes with the Baltic Sea. Construction was interrupted twice, during the First World War and the Second World War. After the Soviet army expelled the Germans, construction stopped.
