Cycling route Death Valley de Peel - Through the eye of the needle (Behelp) (#7)

Through the eye of the needle

Asten-Heusden often got through the eye of the needle during the war.
In total, 9 or 10 aircraft fell during the war, none of which hit homes or farms. Two planes crashed near the Behelp hamlet in Asten-Heusden.
On May 13, 1943, a Wellington Local residents and fire brigade were powerless.
On February 29, 1944, a German bomber made an emergency landing in the same area. The aircraft was completely lost, the crew escaped alive; the pilot broke his leg.
