KZ outer camp Kaufering III began as Kaufering 1. This camp housed 2,000 men and over 300 women. The forced labourers were assigned to project "Ringeltaube".

This project envisaged the construction of six complexes that could continue jet fighter aircraft construction in underground concrete complexes 400 metres long and 85 metres wide and 10 storeys high. In this case, the forced labourers were used for Weingut II. The only complex that was completely finished and put into use after 1945.

On the site of the camp is now an allotment complex.
