Belgian War Graves Marenne

The Marenne cemetery contains war graves from the First and Second World Wars.

Albert MORMONT, born in Marenne on June 3, 1888.
He was a volunteer corporal with the 11th Line 7th Cie
Fallen on the field of honor in Staden on September 29, 1918.
He was first buried at Stadenberg (Staden) and later reburied in his native village.

Eudore HENRY, died in captivity in 1942 at the age of 37.

Herman LAMBERT, born in Hotton on January 18, 1924.
He was arrested by the Gestapo on December 24, 1944 and was one of the victims of the Bande massacre. On Christmas Eve 1944, 34 young people from the village were cowardly murdered by the Germans in a dilapidated house along the N4.
