Patton's Route Marker Fauvillers

Fauvillers was a location where many units gathered to advance to Bastogne and the surrounding area. Various units also had their command posts, aid posts and supply points here. That is why this village was chosen as the starting point of the "Patton's Route".
This route is a project spread over several villages, realized by "La Mémoire Civile 1940-1945" in collaboration with the various communities (Fauvillers, Vaux-sur-Sûre, Assenois, etc.).
The project started in Fauvillers in 2021 with the construction of the "destroyed house". The information panel was installed in February 2022.
The route was solemnly inaugurated on Sunday, December 11, 2022.

The Patton's Route starts at Pâchis de Fauvillers and runs through Hotte, Burnon, Chaumont, Assenois and Bastogne.
It is exactly the same route that the 4th Armored Division of General Patton's Third Army took during its counter-offensive from December 23 to 26, 1944, with the ultimate goal of liberating the besieged city of Bastogne.
This Patton's Route has 9 "WWII Information Points" where you will not only find panels with lots of interesting information about the offensive but also a piece of field artillery, a bunker and a General Patton memorial.
