Memorials Sisteron Citadel

There are two plaques in the citadel of Sisteron.

The first plaque:
This is where the Sisteronnais hostages were held
July 23, 1944
Visitor remember

Second plaque:
Here, in buildings destroyed by the 1944 bombing, several patriots were imprisoned between 1939 and 1944 before ending up in poverty in Algeria or Germany.
A daring raid by resistance fighters, innovating Trojan Horse tactics, freed those who were still here on the eve of the bombardment.
They took part in the fighting for the liberation of Sisteron and the region.
