Memorial Royal Athenaeum Ostend

In the entrance hall of the Royal Athenaeum Athena there are two memorial plaques on the right

The first concerns the First World War.
"To our braves who died for the Fatherland
Ostend
1914-1918"
Below are the names of the fallen (teachers, students and former students of the school).

The second memorial plaque concerns the Second World War.
On the left and right there are reliefs in the style of Permeke, sculptor unknown.
In the middle are the names of the victims, all teachers, former students and students of the school. No distinction is made between fallen soldiers, resistance fighters and civilian victims.
At the bottom are the names of the seven Ostend Jewish students for whom seven Stolpersteine were placed at the gate of the school on November 18, 2023.
