Memorial 152nd Brigade 51st Highlanders Ronchamps

On 10 January 1945, the 152nd Brigade of the 51st Highlanders, supported by the East Riding Yeomanry, moved towards Ronchamps to cover the division's advance through the Ourthe Valley.
The Brigade had taken its positions in Ronchamps in the evening, but the next day they had to deal with persistent German artillery bombardments. A number of victims were killed during a clash at the intersection.

A memorial was placed at this intersection.
"152nd Brigade of the 51st Highlanders
Honor to the heroes who died in January 1945
in Ronchamps, Ronchampay and Vecmont
to preserve our freedom from barbarism."
Below it hangs a plaque with the names of the fallen who fell in Ronchamps and Ronchampay.
