War Graves Executed September 1944 Anhée

There is a memorial plaque at the cemetery of honor for those shot in September 1944.
It is part of a school project (school year 2013-2014) of the 5th and 6th grade of the Municipal School of Anhée. The aim was "Maintaining the memory".

"In memory of our victims

On September 3, 1944, during the withdrawal of the German army, members of the secret army were killed by surprise in Bioul, near the Bruant farm and the Augelis forest.
In 1953, a monument in their memory was erected on this site.
Four of them rest here.
GILLAIN Ferdinand (17-05-1916)

On September 4, 1944, civilians in Anhée were cowardly shot by the Germans in the Dorpsstraat. This street is now called Rue des Fusillés in their honor and a monument is dedicated to it.
