Camp Ashcan

Camp Ashcan (officially: Central Continental Prisoner of War Enclosure No. 32) was an Allied prisoner of war camp for high-ranking Nazis awaiting trial at Nuremberg. The camp was located in the former Palace Hotel, which was demolished in 1988. The Mondorf Parc Hôtel & Spa is currently standing here.

The camp was commanded by Colonel Burton C. Andrus and guarded by U.S. 391st Anti-Aircraft Battalion and Allied Intelligence Service personnel. In addition, 42 selected German prisoners of war worked here.
