In the village of Fraiture a memorial plaque was erected to two fellow villagers who were killed during World War II; on Sept. 9th, 1944.
GILLES Alphonse, age 21, member of the resistance with the Armée de Libération (A.L). He died fighting the Germans.
MARTIN Edmond, age 23, member of the resistance with the Armée Secrèt (A.S.). He was executed by the Germans. Martin left a wife and infant daughter.
The monument was erected on September 8, 1946.
