On the same road, about 700 metres from the Barenthal British Cemetery are the well-preserved remains of a British field hospital from the First World War.
After the lost battle of Caporetto in November 1917, the Italian army received support from British troops who built this concrete field hospital here in 1918. It consisted of two sections, a first aid station and section for the temporary nursing of the wounded awaiting transport by British Red Cross ambulances.
These bunkers are a fine example of a World War I medical purpose building still in well-preserved condition.
