Museum Bescherming Bevolking - Command Post Grou

In Grou (municipality of Leeuwarden) there is a very special command post from the time of the Cold War. This bunker is equipped with four command posts: Circle Command Post Population Protection (KCBB-Friesland-c), Provincial Command Post Population Protection (PCBB-Friesland), Municipal Civil Defense Center (GCCV-Leeuwarden) and Provincial Civil Defense Center (PCCV-Friesland). When plans were drawn up for construction around 1965, it was decided to build a combined command post at this location. After a long period of preparation, this resulted in the official commissioning of this unique command post in Grou in 1967.

The post has not been in use for years. It is now a museum that tells the story of the Cold War period.
