Bunker Kos I

On the far north-eastern side of Kos lies one of the many bunkers on the island. It is not entirely clear from which period these bunkers date. Possibly they were built by the Italians during World War II. More likely, however, they date from the 1970s and were built by the Greeks for fear of a Turkish invasion. The distance to Turkey here is only about 10 kilometres.
