Stumbling Stones Rijksstraatweg 93

These memorial stones (so called Stolpersteine of stumbling blocks) commemorate:
- Sophia Henriėtta Barber-Elekan (born 1874, deported 24.8.1943 from Westerbork, murdered 27.8.1943 Auschwitz)
- Mozes Reens (born 1895, deported 27.4.1943 from Westerbork, murdered 30.4.1943 Sobibor)
- Henriėtte Reens-Barber (born 1901, deported 27.4.1943 from Westerbork, murdered 30.4.1943 Sobibor)
- Sally Jacques Reens (born 1923, deported 1943 from Westerbork, murdered 28.11.1943 Auschwitz)
- Mary Sophie Reens (born 1926, deported 24.8.1943 from Westerbork, murdered 27.8.1943 Auschwitz)

The small brass plaques, in the pavement in front of houses of which the (mostly Jewish) residents were persecuted or murdered by the Nazis, mention the name, date of birth and place (mostly a concentration camp) and date of death.

In many other cities, mainly in Germany but also in other European countries, the memorials also can be found. There are already many thousands of these plaques and their number is still counting. Almost all Stolpersteine are laid by the German artist himself, Gunter Demnig.
