This panel provides more information about Lancaster R5682 which crashed near here. The monument 'The Swallow Wall' is located at crash location. This crash location is only accessible by boat. Three of the seven crew members died. Flight Sergeant (W.Op./Air Gnr.) Edward Joseph May is buried in Eernewoude. Pilot Officer (Pilot) Peter Clement Vellacott Joslin is buried in Wartena. The tail gunner Francis Cooper is still missing. The other four crew members were taken prisoner of war by the Germans.
