Louis Rademecker had contributed to the creation of an association for assistance and solidarity for the families of police officers. It was originally intended for the family members of officers who were imprisoned, on the run or deported. Later the activities were expanded to other categories of resistance fighters.
On December 21, 1946, the plaque was inaugurated on the facade of the former main police station. In March 1970, these buildings were demolished and the memorial plaque moved to the left side of the facade of the town hall.
