The ruins of the old chapel of Saint-Manvieu are located in the cemetery southwest of the village.
This chapel, attached to the choir of the old church of Saint-Manvieu, was destroyed in 1944 and rebuilt after the war. One of the walls was restored in 2005.
The stately chapel had been listed as a historic monument since January 24, 1918, the bell tower and the choir were listed as a monument on May 16, 1927.
In 1944, during the Second World War, the bell tower and choir were almost completely destroyed during violent fighting against SS19 troops.
Saint-Manvieu was liberated on June 26, 1944 by Scottish troops of the 44th Infantry Brigade Lowland and the 15th Infantry Division Scottish.
