German Resistance Nest Pier Blankenberge

This bunker is located under the walkway to the pier.
During the Second World War, the Germans integrated the Blankenberge pier into the Atlantic Wall. The Resistance Nest WN Pier was established, with defensive fortifications on the head building and a bunker at the dike head. This bunker was built on top of a Belgian bunker from the period before the Second World War. It served as a beach defence post and was equipped with a 47mm anti-tank gun and a machine gun.
