This is observation bunker 01 of Fort Eben-Emael.
The bunker consisted of 2 floors and was equipped with a cupola with periscope.
On the first floor of the bunker was the 60 mm antitank gun and a machine gun. The gun direction of the cannon was in the direction of Lanaye Lock. On the 1st floor were two machine guns and two searchlights, and was the entrance to the observation cupola. The machine guns faced east and could help defend the lock.
The bunker was connected to the fort's tunnel network and was the southernmost bunker of the fort.
The turret had a periscope. Unfortunately, this is no longer present.
The bunker is also one of the fort's 10 observation posts, known as OP274. Fort Eben-Emael would had 10 of these posts, 3 of which were located inside the fort (of which OP274 is a part), 2 outside the fort, and 5 in the vicinity of the fort.
