The Honourable John Yarburgh Cunliffe-Lister. 88329. Captain. Staffordshire Yeomanry, Royal Armoured Corps. Died 14 April 1943. Buried at Enfidaville War Cemetery, Tunisia.
Squadron Leader Honourable Phillip Ingram Cunliffe-Lister, D.S.O. served in and commanded Bomber Commands 1409 (Meteorlogical) Flight. On 18th July 1943 his Mosquito Mk1X LR502 ran out of fuel due to a navigational error and made a forced landing in Nazi occupied Holland. He and his navigator, P/O Kernon evaded capture, were arrested after 4 days and sent to Stalag Luft 3 at Sagan. He survived the war and died in 1956.
