In the Devant-le-Pont neighborhood of Visé, there is a small cemetery whith a monument to the fallen soldiers and civilians from Devant-le-Pont.
It commemorates the victims of both World Wars.
The soldiers killed in the 1st World War
RUWET Theophile, age 31, soldier with the 14th line regiment, died of wounds, August 6th, 1914 at Ougrée.
ANCEAUX Marcel, age 27, soldier in an instruction company for stretcher-bearers at Le Mans (F), died July 16th, 1917 at Paris (France).
CLOSSET Jacques, age 40, Corporal with the 16th artillery regiment, telegraph service, killed by shrapnel on July 25th, 1918 at Lampernisse (West Flanders). He is buried at Lorette cemetery near Visé.
DELCOURT Leon, aged between 14 and 18, died trying to swim across the Meuse River to join the Belgian Army.
MARCHAND Edouard, age 20, Sergeant with the 12th Line Regiment, warvolunteer, died of wounds sustained due to shrapnel on September 24th, 1916 at Diksmuide (West Flanders), he is buried in the cemetery of Devant-le-Pont at Visé.
SAUVAGE Leonard, age 21, soldier in the 12th Line Regiment, died of wounds in the hospital of Rosendael (France) on November 2nd, 1914, he is buried the military cemetery of Dunkirk, grave 2-16.

MASSOTTE Willy, age 20, soldier at Fort Eben-Emael. Born in Hermalle-sous-Argenteau, Killed in action on May 11th, 1940 during the fighting at Fort Eben-Emael when he and 3 others defended the area behind turret Maastricht (MA1). Seated behind sandbags behind the closed steel doors, they had to prevent a German breakthrough at this point. Turret Maastricht (MA1) was severely damaged by a hollow charge, on the inside killing one soldier and wounding 3. However, the German attackers placed a 12.5 kg hollow charge against the airtight steel doors that connected the space under turret Maastricht to the tunnel network. The explosion blew one of the two doors inward and killed the four lined up defenders, Emile Gillet, Joseph Dujardin and Albert Corombelle. Willy Massotte is buried in the Devant-le-Pont cemetery.
REUTER Georges, age 26, volunteer with the RAF, killed May 19th, 1941 while fighting for the RAF in Libya, he is still missing.
SAUVAGE Henri, age 34, soldier, killed at Paschendaele (West Flanders) on May 27th, 1940. He is buried in Devant-le-Pont cemetery.
