Vip-11.1 Muela Villaspesa

Although the strong points of Teruel's defensive line were the Castellar and Galiana corners, there were other small defensive positions in between.
Muela de Villastar was an intermediate fortified point overlooking the republican positions of Aldehuela.

In the Muela de Villaspesa, on the side overlooking Aldehuela, only a small line of trenches has been preserved from which access to the city and the Turia River valley was controlled.
In addition to the trench, Muela had another important element in the fortified complex: a tunnel dug from the entrenched line to the back of the mountain, sheltered from the views and fire of the Las Cañadas government positions.
Although the tunnel is preserved over its entire length, the access at the rear is completely closed off. The remains of the positions and the lookout post are still clearly visible.
