This (Nationalist) artillery position is located between the trenches that run through the pine forest of the Primer Vallejo mountain, it is part of the positions of the hamlet of El Campillo.
This fire control post consists of a small room with concrete walls and an entrance, which served as a command post for the battery that fired from the fields in the ravine at the republican positions located on the other side of the ravine from the Mojón Blanco.
The garrison defending Teruel had only three batteries of 75 and 155 mm. In order to cover the entire defense line, but also to give the opponent the impression that the number was larger, one of the batteries moved continuously from one direction to the other and fired a few shots, hence the name "ghost battery".
In the pine forest, traces of shell impacts, trenches and positions are still clearly visible. The remains of the fire control post are also clearly visible.
