Val-9.1 Alto la Torana Corbalan

The militarization of the columns, which had reached the Teruel area via the Sierra del Pobo and the Alfambra Valley in the summer of 1936, would lead to an advance and consolidation of the republican lines. Supported by the heights of El Tocón, El Chopo and Alto de la Torana, this line would have its strongest point on this last height.

Among the fortifications, two machine gun posts crossing the old road stand out. One disappeared during the works on the new route, although its remains can still be seen.
The other post, solidly made, has been preserved in perfect condition. A framework of iron bars provided strength to the whole. Behind this lies a parallel line of trenches, including a shelter with concrete walls and another excavated at great depths that would serve as a command post for that sector.
On the other side are the usual hiding places for the troops
